Plain-English terms.
These terms cover use of the sama.ink website and any informal engagement with Sama studio. Anything you actually pay us for runs on a separate written agreement — usually a Statement of Work and / or Master Services Agreement signed by both sides.
About Sama
Sama is a small founder-led studio that builds software — web, mobile, crypto, agentic AI. The website at sama.ink exists to introduce the studio and let people get in touch.
Using this site
You can read, share, and link to any public page on sama.ink. You can't copy substantial portions of the site's content, scrape it for AI training, or pass it off as your own.
The site is provided "as is." We try to keep it accurate, but we don't guarantee uptime, completeness, or freedom from typos. Don't rely on anything here as legal, financial, or technical advice — every project is different and we'll spell out specifics in writing before any work starts.
Getting in touch
When you email us, scan the QR, or otherwise reach out, you're starting a conversation — nothing more. No contract is formed by you contacting us, and we make no commitment to take on your project. We may not be the right fit, may not have capacity, or may not be able to help legally.
If we decide to work together, the actual engagement will be governed by a signed agreement that supersedes anything implied here.
Engagement basics (when we do work together)
These are the defaults we tend to start from. Every actual engagement has its own signed terms; if those say something different, those win.
- IP ownership: Once a project is paid in full, the deliverables are yours. We retain the right to discuss the work publicly (subject to any NDA) and to reuse generic components and methods.
- Confidentiality: We treat anything you share as confidential by default. NDAs are available on request and standard for sensitive work.
- Payment: Project, retainer, or equity terms agreed up front. Invoices typically due within 14 days.
- Timelines: We aim for a first working demo within 14 days. Scope changes can affect timelines — we'll always tell you in writing before something slips.
- Exit: Either side can end an engagement with reasonable notice. We hand over docs and code cleanly; you pay for work delivered up to that point.
What we don't do
We don't take on work that's illegal, that we believe causes meaningful harm, or that involves designing systems to deceive users. We reserve the right to decline or end any engagement on those grounds.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Sama is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of this site or unsigned communications. For paid engagements, liability is capped at the fees paid in the previous three months unless a signed agreement says otherwise.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited — for example, liability for gross negligence, fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Third-party links
The site may link to external resources. We're not responsible for what's on those sites, their privacy practices, or their content. Visit them at your own discretion.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which Sama is registered, with disputes resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction — unless a signed engagement specifies otherwise.
